I am looking for costuming supplies, with a focus on cabaret - fabric, trim, all the good stuff.
I know JoAnn, Michaels, Parker Button and the possibilities of finding things at Goodwill - but, being an East End chick, I am wondering whether there are places I should check out? Where are the great fabric stores I can't live without?

Re: Costume making supplies in Pittsburgh?
Mon, June 30, 2008 - 6:26 PMPat Catan's has some packs of skinny little lightweight silver- and gold-tone coins in multiple sizes. Their trim selection is pretty sad, but if you make jewelry or need beads for beading then I'd say to try there before Joann's--IIRC, their parent company is the wholesaler for Joann's and thus their beads & bits prices are way less.
I think Walmart is knocking out their fabric section--there's some decent stuff there now for $1 and $2 a yard. They also have trim by the spool & yard for decent (read: lower than Joann's) prices.
If there's another fabric place in the area, I need to know about it too!

West Virginia, apparently. A seamstress that I know swears by a huge fabric outlet over there- she saves up and buys a large portion of her fabric at one time on trips there. I've been meaning to find out where exactly this place is- goodness knows, we don't seem to have anything so exciting.
